Amorepacific received the President’s Commendation, the grand prize in the Design Management category, at the 23rd Korea Design Award.
The Korea Design Award is the most prestigious awards ceremony in the design sector in Korea hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion. The event is held annually to award leading companies and provincial governments with outstanding management performance driven by excellent design.
The Design Management category under which Amorepacific was presented with the President’s Commendation is geared toward companies that have achieved innovations in manufacturing and services on the basis of outstanding design and that have recorded exceptional performance in the development of design management strategies, investment in development and the training of aspiring young talent.
Since the company’s founding in 1945, Amorepacific has considered design as one of its key strengths, using the important strategic element in all corporate activities, including architecture and space, products, social contributions, and Mécénat Activities. The President’s Commendation was given in recognition of Amorepacific’s overall design activities that were significant in terms of the company, brand, sustainable management, and social contribution.
Amorepacific’s strong design philosophy embodied in the headquarters building, Mizium (R&D center), and Amore Beauty Park, along with other spaces including Amore Seongsu and Tea Stone at Jeju Osulloc received great reviews. These are spaces that compel visitors to communicate and form relationships based on creative sensitivity, and where they can enjoy and experience the beauty of mother nature.
On the brand front, Amorepacific translated the essence of different brands into consistent and appealing designs as seen in their package design, collaborative projects, flagship stores, and website communication, all which helped the company to gain a competitive edge.
Moreover, Amorepacific offers a characteristic typeface ‘Arita’ that incorporates the company identity for free on its website. The company is also committed to developing sustainable products and architectural designs that help protect the environment and improve the society.
An Amorepacific representative said, “We are excited for being acknowledged for our design management, which pursues the company’s firm design philosophy and the shared value of creative artisanship. Moving forward, we’ll continue to build the corporate and brand image with innovative, attractive designs as a leading beauty company of Korea.”
